Designdamage by Eric Tsai: How Social Media Is Transforming Business

  • Weboart · 5 months ago
Lots of all sized companies have been taken by surprise by social media. It can happen to anyone, but never is too early to plan. Here, SPEED is the key to social media understanding. Only one tweet can be enough to launch a huge gossip and generate negative buzz on the Net. Don't you think? If you want to keep discussing about it, I have written an article at blog.weboart.com called "Social Media in Crisis Management: The sharp click". Hope you like it!

Excellent post. I agree very much on the fact that short-termism is not sustainable for obvious reasons. We saw this all many years before, after all.

Great post bud, totally agree on all points, this is the shift thats been needed to force those with the wrong intent and integrity to either change or be found out and to allow those with the right intent to shine. Transparency, altruism and a general want to help will benefit all including the helper. When big businesses stops treating everything as a zero sum game they will begin to bread value in areas they never before considered.
Great post and one that I will refer to when I get the time to post on my blog soon.

    Wedoart,
SPEED is one critical area but more importantly is the intent and the quality of the engagement. A single tweet do have those power and is especially effective if tweeted with emotion rather than logic.

    Steven,
Short-termism is still a good tactic, but it all depends on the angle of the tactic and if it fits into the overall scheme of the strategic goal.

    Congo,
The intent can be in the form of a product as well, that's the difference between consumers perception on what's value and what's quality. If you make a good product and it's not the cheapest you're still trying to help with your intent, altruism isn't charity, it's' how we know why you're helping.
