I would also add - if you have a special hobby, you may wish to set up separate ids in your social media sites. For instance, I am really into martial arts as one of my recreational hobbies so I have a network of peers who are enthusiasts as well, however, I don't necessarily want to mix my peer's blog comments, etc. between my business (or for that matter) personal network since content that relates to business/professional will interest the professionals, while my martial arts blogs and stuff will only interest my martial arts peers.
